Play Therapy and Attachment Trauma: Relational Healing for Relational Wounds Aug 22nd with Amber-Lea Martinez, PhD

Sale Price: $150.00 Original Price: $180.00

This workshop will explore the impacts of attachment disruptions on children’s development and presenting concerns and will examine the implementation of play therapy when working with this population.

Four percent of children in America live with neither of their parents (Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics, 2023), including nearly 400,000 children in the foster system (United States Children’s Bureau, 2022), and these children often present with a wide array of unique clinical needs, including concerns related to inconsistent caregivers (Vreeland et al., 2020), attachment difficulties (Madigan et al., 2023), and traumatic experiences (Baker et al., 2017).

Child-centered play therapy, a mental health intervention that utilizes the relationship as the healing factor (Landreth, 2024; Ray, 2011), can provide a unique match for these children, who have experienced relational trauma (D’Andrea et al., 2012).
