As the third session of the 4-part series, participants will learn and apply the ACT model of therapeutic limit setting.

Participants will:

  • Determine and discuss the purposes of therapeutic limit setting

  • Identify the therapist’s role in setting limits within CCPT sessions

  • Apply the ACT Model of therapeutic limit setting

  • Explore the therapeutic goal of empowering children to develop internal self-control

  • Describe and differentiate between therapeutic internal vs. external control

  • Practice responses and interventions when children break established limits

Julie Thigpen is approved by the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to play therapy and maintains responsibility for the program. Credit available to mental health professionals and graduate students in a mental health program. APT Approved Provider #24-744
