Serena Grant, Master’s Level Counselor-In-Training

Serena Grant is a master’s-level counselor-in-training under the supervision of Merideth Owens, MS, LPC, RPT, EMDR Certified Therapist, and Dr. Jinnelle V. Powell, Ph.D., LPC-S, EMDR Trainer and Consultant. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University and earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, focusing on child and adolescent development from LeTourneau University.

Serena is passionate about working with children and adolescents and creating a space where clients feel safe, heard, and understood. She began developing this passion while working at Thrive Longview, an after-school program focused on supporting middle school students’ mental health.

After returning to Corpus Christi, Serena worked as a Registered Behavior Therapist at Little Behavior Consulting On The Coast, where she gained experience supporting children with autism through behavioral therapy. She now serves as a Counselor Support Specialist at Distinctive Counseling, where she helps foster a calm, supportive environment for both clients and staff.

Serena strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions openly. She believes that seeking support is a meaningful step toward healing and growth and is honored to walk alongside clients as they move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
